The Reverte® oxobiodegradable (Masterbatch) is well suited to a wide range of processes and applications. Reverte® is safe for food contact and has been used by many companies to provide a reliable and reproducible oxo-biodegradable profile around the world. It can be used in industrial and consumer packaging and other applications including agricultural films, industrial films, food packaging (PE, BOPP, CPP and PET) and shopping bags (HDPE, LDPE).
The term ‘Oxobiodegradable’ is a hybridization of two words, oxidation and biodegradable. It clearly defines a two-step process initiated by the Oxobiodegradable technology to initiate (degrade) the polymer chain (break up) and make it available for biodegradation within the environment when a treated item has finished its useful life.
Our general use Oxobiodegradable technology is well suited to a wide range of processes and applications. Safe for food contact and has been used by many companies globally, providing a reliable and reproducible oxobiodegradable profile for single use disposable plastics. Our Oxobiodegradable additive and masterbatch can be incorporated directly into the production of flexible and semi-rigid packaging.
Plastics incorporating our Oxobiodegradable technologies will be more susceptible to environmental exposure, ultimately oxidizing, making the polymer hydrocarbon bond more accessible to microbial life for bio-digestion into CO2, H2O and biomass when disposed of in the correct disposal environment.
Oxobioplast Inc. has over 20 years of experience providing sustainable and technical solutions for many of today’s challenges with cost effective and safe packaging solutions. Our unique formulation offers a greater degree of control and predictability than our competitors’ offerings, along with several other advantages.
Oxobioplast Inc. provides Oxobiodegradable Additives and Masterbatches for plastics based on mixture of Transition Metal Salts and Metal Oxides.
Flexible and semi-rigid packaging like containers, agricultural mulch films, industrial films, shopping bags and food packaging (PE, PP).
Mode of actions: Acts by initiating the breaking of polymer bonds through oxidation into functionalized fragments, with a reduce molecular weight, converting the polymer material into a hygroscopic substance which is then accessible by microbes in the environment as a food source. The “bio-digestion” process by microbial life converts the remaining polymer to H2O, CO2 and biomass.
